Teddy's Canine Railroad was started with a purpose in mind.... to help Bernese Mountain Dogs in need, particuliarly in the Province of Quebec. We accept dogs from all sorts of situations and take pride in our careful evaluation and rehabilitation of each and every Berner that crosses our path. No Berner is ever refused assistance. 

Our passion for the breed encourages proper breeding and discourages pet shop purchases or internet puppy purchases without thorough research on the breeder. Many have been duped by a seemingly lovely home situation. Don't let yourself be misinformed. Education is the key to ensuring the Berner remain a dog bred for further longevity and better health in the future. Please don't encourage them to be a "gotta have one" breed whereby their temperament and health are compromised for mass production.

All animals adopted through Teddy's Canine Railroad are current on vaccinations, altered, microchipped and vet checked prior to arriving in their new home. Should an animal come in with hip or elbow difficulties, the animal is xrayed and checked while under anesthetic in order to give a better long term diagnosis and aid the prospective adoptee in determining long term costs or care for the animal.

Teddy's Canine Railroad helps to coordinate transportation of animals to their forever homes or foster homes. We help to coordinate layovers during transportation as well as any medical requirements that may need to be fulfilled prior to transportation or enroute.
